We have chosen to use Alrik as our system for managing logistics to our customers because it is so simple. It worked from the first day and it has made our sales staff, logistics manager, drivers and most importantly our customers' work life much easier. Alrik has a great interface and it is actually fun to work with.

The role of the logistics manager has also become more motivating as it has shifted from mainly firefighting to being able to improve the operations, optimizing the fleet and routes with perfect and timely deliveries to our customer thanks to the easy to use software Alrik provides.

The challenge

Beijer Byggmaterial is a leading supplier of construction building materials in Northern Europe. Beijer is always looking for ways to improve and optimize their operations in order to deliver superior services to their customers. The company identified that its transport solution was heavily dependent on analoge and time-consuming processes, which were heavily prone to human errors. Beijer had identified their transport solution to be relying on manual and time consuming processes with high risk of human errors affecting the service to their customers. Moreover, they also experienced a dissatisfaction and rising sustainability concern regarding the amounts of half-empty trucks going to construction sites. This was a result of lack of route optimizations. Finally, the importance for Beijer's customers to efficiently plan and operate on the construction site is of vital importance to get the project done on time. Unfortunately, there has not been enough real-time data for construction companies to be informed on exactly when and where its goods will arrive, leading to longer lead times and delays.
